K Janaka Ranaweera obtained B. A Degree from Sir Kothalawala Defence University in the year 1999. He is a military professional with 27 years of military career and had undergone many local and abroad training relevant to his profession and military positions.
Janaka did his Staff Course at the Defence Services Command and Staff College SRI LANKA securing a Master of Defence Studies degree from the University of Kelaniya. He also qualified with a merit pass in professional diplomacy and international relations diploma from Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies, SRI LANKA. Further, he is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College Mirpur BANGLADESH and obtained his second, Master of Science Degree from the University of Professionals BANGLADESH. At present, he is completing his third master's degree in Defence diplomacy at the Republic of Indonesian Defence University.
